Free Consultation
I offer a free 15-min consultation via phone with new clients before scheduling an intake. During this, we will discuss briefly what brings you to therapy, what goals you may have, and what next steps may be if you choose to start therapy with me. This is one of the ways to determine if we are a good fit. Additionally, I can provide education on insurance and set up expectations on the importance of regular sessions.
Therapy Process
Our work begins with a 60-minute intake session where I ask new clients a wide range of questions. This is an opportunity of getting an idea of someone's context and perspective on their issues, and how I can be of support.
After the intake, individual ongoing therapy sessions are between 53 and 60 minutes on a weekly or biweekly basis, at a mutually agreed upon time. During our sessions, we may use a combination of acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, from a person-centered, culturally sensitive approach -- whatever works best for you; I am not stuck to one therapy approach or another!
All sessions are conducted via telehealth using a secure video-conferencing software.

Insurance & Fees
Insurance
Currently, I am in-network with the following insurances:
Aetna
AmeriHealth Caritas
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
Buckeye & Ambetter
CareSource
Cigna, Oscar
Medical Mutual
Molina
Ohio Medicaid plans
UnitedHealthcare, UMR, Oxford, Optum
I am unable to accept Medicare plans at this time. With insurance, please note you may be responsible for a copay, coinsurance, or deductible before your health plan begins to share in the cost of covered services. Please verify your insurance benefits upon scheduling a therapy appointment as actual plan coverage may vary. Costs not covered by your insurance policy will be your responsibility.
Self-pay & Out-of-network rates
For clients who do not have insurance, or opt to not use insurance benefits, the customary rate for an intake session is $150, and an individual counseling session is $130. I want to make our services accessible, so for those with financial need, I offer a sliding scale on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me if you would like to discuss sliding scale options.
If I am considered an out-of-network (OON) provider for your insurance, I am able to provide you with a superbill for possible reimbursement from your health insurance provider. Please contact your insurance provider for more information.
Cancellation Policy
If a session is canceled or rescheduled more than 24 hours in advance, you will not incur any fees.
If a session is canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice, a $130 fee will be applied. This fee can be applied to the next session if made for the same week. If a session is missed, you will be subject to a full charge (self-pay amount or insurance-contracted fee). If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time.
Good Faith Estimate
If you do not have insurance or are not using your insurance to pay for your services (you are paying out-of-pocket), you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
